The latest job report delivered news that shook many people. According to the report, over 300,000 Black women lost employment in just three months. As a Black woman, hearing this news rattled me. The questions started developing in my mind:
*What type of career opportunities are available for a Black woman in this climate?
*For the Black woman who desires entrepreneurship, what resources are available?
*How can we serve as allies during this critical time?
Plus, many other thoughts & questions came into my mind. One thing I was certain about is that we, as Black women, have the tools, resources, and capability to ensure that we maintain emotional & mental well-being while achieving financial security. When we think of ancestors, women like Madam CJ Walker and Shirley Chisholm, who had far fewer rights than we have today, blazed a path forward despite the challenges.
